The Hawthorne Police Department and the Community Services Department will provide an update and short presentation on the City’s efforts to engage with and assist the homeless community, and how such concerns can be reported to the appropriate City Department.

Approval of an Agreement for Homelessness Coordination between the City of Hawthorne and St. Margaret Center
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the agreement with St. Margaret Center to establish a partnership that will fund and fill the position of a Homeless Services Supervisor. The Homeless Services Supervisor will coordinate homelessness outreach, services, and programs within the City of Hawthorne.
Progress Payment #6 and Final Acceptance in the amount of $108,870.00 due to Sequel Contractors of Santa Fe Springs, CA for Northeast Hawthorne Mobility Improvement Project (Project # 21-05)
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve this Progress Payment #6 and Final Acceptance to Sequel Contractors of Santa Fe Springs, CA and release 5% retention amount 35 days after Final Approval.
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, Award of Additional Administrative Fee Funding for Small Area Fair Market Rents Implementation
RECOMMENDED MOTION: The staff recommends that the City Council: 1. Receive and approve for use, the Special Administrative Fees from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to offset the transition cost of the mandatory use of Small Area Fair Market Rents (SAFMRs). 2. Authorize the Finance Department to make funds immediately available in the 810 account.
Agreement with the City of Inglewood for Supplemental Law Enforcement Services for Special Events in the City of Inglewood.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Approve the proposed Agreement with the City of Inglewood for supplemental law enforcement support for special events in the City of Inglewood, and authorize the City Manager or the Chief of Police to execute all documents related thereto.
Receive and file Housing Authority Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023-24
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Staff recommends that the City Council receive and file the City of Hawthorne Housing Authority Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023-24 (EXHIBIT “A”)
Professional Services Agreement between the City of Hawthorne (“City”) and Kimley-Horn.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement and make minor changes thereto.
Appropriation of $328,789 from325-6101-601-0-0-40514, for Jim Thorpe Ball Diamond Improvements by Community Services Department.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Staff Recommends that the City Council approve the financial contributions and project framework for the Dodgers Dreamfield at Jim Thorpe Park.
